Kartik Aaryan injured during action shoot for Kabir Khan’s Captain India

Kartik Aaryan has reportedly suffered a severe knee injury while shooting an intense action sequence for his upcoming sports drama directed by Kabir Khan. The actor was filming the final stretch of the yet-to-be-titled project in Mumbai when the accident occurred. According to India Today, the injury has brought the production to a temporary halt as Aaryan prepares to undergo surgery.

The incident reportedly took place during the final two days of filming, when the team was shooting several important action sequences. Aaryan was immediately taken to Fortis Raheja Hospital in Mahim for medical attention. Reports state that doctors have advised surgery for the knee injury, with the procedure expected to take place on August 20. He will subsequently be required to take a few days of complete rest before resuming work.
The injury comes as the actor was nearing the completion of Kabir Khan’s sports drama. The film is reportedly inspired by the life of young kickboxer Tajamul Islam, with Aaryan playing the role of a coach. The project also marks an important collaboration between the actor and Khan after their earlier sports drama Chandu Champion. Aaryan is also making his debut as a co-producer on the film through his production house, Dopamine Studios.
While details about the exact nature of Aaryan’s knee injury have not been officially disclosed, reports have described it as severe enough to require surgical intervention. Neither the actor nor the film’s team has issued an official statement about his health so far.

The setback could temporarily affect Aaryan’s upcoming work commitments. After recovering from the injury, the actor is expected to return to the sets of Anurag Basu’s upcoming romantic film, in which he stars opposite Sreeleela. The project has already been progressing in Mumbai, with Aaryan having reportedly completed a substantial portion of his work.
For now, the focus remains on Aaryan’s recovery as he prepares for surgery. The accident occurred just as Kabir Khan’s film was approaching the finish line, making the timing particularly unfortunate for the actor and the production team. Aaryan’s previous commitment to physically demanding roles, including his transformation for Chandu Champion, has often involved extensive preparation and action-oriented sequences.
Further updates on his condition and the film’s shooting schedule are expected once the actor and makers officially comment on the incident.
