Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi's Ramayana unveils new song on Karwa Chauth

Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi’s on-screen pairing as Lord Ram and Goddess Sita has found a fresh moment in the spotlight. The makers of Ramayana released a new song, Judi Jodi, on Karwa Chauth, and the track has received positive reactions from listeners online after the film’s previous song, Mangal Rang, faced criticism over its musical style. The latest release celebrates the sacred bond between Ram and Sita, adding to the growing anticipation for Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming mythological film.
Ramayana’s new song Judi Jodi released on Karwa Chauth
Composed by AR Rahman, Judi Jodi features vocals by Shreya Ghoshal and Chinmayi Sripada, with lyrics by Dr Kumar Vishwas. The song celebrates Ram and Sita’s union and features Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. The makers shared the song on Karwa Chauth, a festival associated with married couples and prayers for their partners’ well-being. The release also connects the film’s central love story with the occasion. The song is available through the film’s official music channels, including T-Series. Its release in multiple Indian languages is expected to help it reach audiences across the country.

Listeners have praised the track for its composition, lyrics and vocals. One social media user described it as “soulful and divine”, while another called it the best among the film’s songs released so far.
Why Mangal Rang faced criticism
The positive response to Judi Jodi comes days after Mangal Rang, another song from Ramayana, sparked debate online. Released on October 25, the track features Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal and was also composed by Rahman. Some listeners questioned its musical arrangement, with several comparing its perceived qawwali and Sufi influences to other songs. Others debated whether the style suited a story based on the Hindu epic.
India Today reported that the song drew criticism from social media users who questioned its musical direction. However, the online response was mixed, with the discussion reflecting different expectations about how the epic should be presented on screen.

With T-Series involved in the film’s music distribution, the release of Judi Jodi adds another promotional moment ahead of the film’s theatrical debut.
