Speaking to The Lallantop, Sanu was asked about his popularity among female fans, to which he had a witty response. Without naming the issue directly, the singer said, “Nahi mereko ko koi chumma wumma nahi khaya. Na maine kisi ko khaya. Na toh mein chumma diya, na liya. Maine woh sab nahi kiya (Nobody came and kissed me. Nor did I kiss anyone. I neither gave nor received a kiss. I did not do any of that).”
His playful remark has brought renewed attention to the controversy around Udit’s live performance videos and the debate surrounding it.
During the same conversation, Sanu opened up about his professional rivalry with Udit during the 1990s, saying that the two now share a good relationship. He shared that they used to compete with each other in the past, but now get along well, adding that their equation is good now since there is nothing for either of them to lose.
For the unversed, Sanu and Udit were two of the biggest playback singers of the 1990s. Naturally, they often competed for some of the most popular songs of that time.
