Singer-rapper Badshah’s Chandigarh-based nightclub, SAGO By Badshah, has been sealed by local authorities following allegations of multiple building rule violations. The action was taken by the Chandigarh Administration as part of an ongoing crackdown on commercial establishments that are reportedly operating in violation of approved building plans and regulations.
Badshah`s nightclub sealed due to building violations
The nightclub, located in the city’s popular Sector 26 nightlife hub, was sealed after officials claimed that the management failed to address several irregularities despite receiving repeated notices and opportunities to comply with the rules. Authorities stated that inspections of the property revealed a number of unauthorized modifications and structural changes that allegedly deviated from the sanctioned building plan.
Chandigarh Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav confirmed the action, saying, “We have sealed the club Sago following multiple building violations.” He further stated, “Despite being granted considerable time and multiple opportunities to rectify or regularise the violations, the occupants allegedly failed to comply with the directions of the Estate Office.”
According to officials, the alleged violations included the construction of cabins and partitions, toilets, kitchen facilities, and a cold storage area without proper authorization. Authorities also pointed to the covering of open courtyards with mild steel structures and fibre sheets, the installation of tin sheds and storage areas, alterations to the building’s rear elevation, and changes to the approved layout and planning of the property.
All about the club`s violations
Reports indicate that a show-cause notice was first issued to the club’s occupants in April 2024 after inspections uncovered the alleged irregularities. The management was reportedly directed to remove or regularize the structures and bring the property in line with approved regulations. However, officials maintain that the required corrective measures were not taken, leading to the eventual sealing of the premises.
The enforcement action forms part of a broader campaign targeting establishments in Sector 26, one of Chandigarh’s busiest entertainment districts. Authorities have reportedly been conducting inspections across the area to identify unauthorized constructions, encroachments, and deviations from sanctioned plans, with several other venues also coming under scrutiny.
The club has previously attracted attention due to security-related incidents in the area, including a bomb scare in 2024. However, officials have clarified that the latest action is strictly related to alleged building regulation violations and not connected to any past incidents.
As of now, neither Badshah nor representatives of the nightclub have publicly commented on the sealing. The venue will remain closed until further orders from the competent authorities and until the matter is resolved through the appropriate channels.
