After the trailer of Ramayana was dropped, comparisons and memes about Adipurush started resurfacing. This came after Manoj Muntashir also called the film the biggest mistake of his life. Not only this, after the teaser of the film was released, Adipurush’s Ram Siya Ram song also resurfaced. As the movie continues to remain the talk of the town, Adipurush memes pointing out its mistakes are resurfacing.
Adipurush memes resurface
A netizen shared a clip of Lord Hanuman flying while ships sailed in the ocean. The caption read, “Adipurush movie is so unserious that there are actually ships in the ocean when Hanuman ji is flying to Lanka.” Another one wrote, “How did Om Raut not get beaten up for this?” While one netizen mentioned, “Adipurush is a senseless movie made by senseless people.”
There were also tweets about netizens pointing out Kriti Sanon’s costumes, amid Lara Dutta and Sai Pallavi facing flak for their attires.
A user wrote, “Internet when Kriti Sanon played Sita in Adipurush in a revealing saree: ‘How dare you show Sita like this?!’ Internet when Sai Pallavi and Lara Dutta played Sita in fully covered, modest sarees: ‘Clothes weren’t even like that in those times!’ Classic double standards on Sita’s attire across different Ramayana adaptations.”
Another mentioned, “Kriti Sanon in Adipurush got brutally trolled for her attire in the movie. People called it blasphemy and an insult to Mata Sita as the costume was too revealing. Sai Pallavi in Ramayana is also getting trolled for wearing full-sleeved clothes, as people are claiming it is not according to the texts, as there was no concept of a blouse. At this point, it’s not about costumes or the person, it’s about the sadistic mentality of criticising everything that comes in front of their eyes.”
Some even compared certain visuals to Avengers and Harry Potter. A user wrote, “Avengers copied Adipurush so hard, but they got caught because the music is in sync. Is this movie the biggest shame for Indian cinema?”
Another mentioned, “We don’t talk much about how Om Raut’s #Adipurush made Ramji fight Dementors from Harry Potter, which were being summoned by a Meesho Skeletor from He-Man.”
