Filmmaker Kunal Kohli is known for voicing his concerns on social media and calling attention to issues he believes need to be addressed. He has urged the Mumbai Police to intervene over alleged drug activity at the Carter Road skateboard park in Bandra, a space frequented by children. The director took to social media to flag concerns about the group’s presence and seek action.
Kunal Kohli urges Mumbai Police
Taking to social media, Kohli tagged the official Mumbai Police handle and highlighted the presence of a group he alleged was involved in drug use and selling drugs at the park. He wrote, “This group of drug addicts & drug sellers are creating a mess. They sleep without clothes sometimes & are involved in all sorts of activities that I cannot say here on social media. I request you to please clear the children’s park of this gang.”
However, the allegations in Kohli’s social media post have not been independently verified. It remains unclear whether the Mumbai Police have responded to his appeal.
When Kunal requested Tukaram Mundhe
The filmmaker is known to tweet actively on several current issues. He recently took to Instagram Stories to share a message for Tukaram Mundhe, wherein he jokingly suggested that the FDA commissioner should raid kitchens across Indian households. The Hum Tum director wrote, “I request Tukaram Munde to raid kitchen shelves & refrigerators in Indian households across the country. There will be expired items, from years ago, neatly and safely preserved, the bottles & packets wiped clean every month & put back on the shelf or refrigerator never to be used again.” He further suggested that everyone should carry out what he referred to as a ‘Tukaram Munde cleaning’ of their homes themselves.
Apart from this, Kunal also heaped praise on superstar Salman Khan when he called out the paparazzi for clicking inappropriate pictures of actresses and taking backshots. He also spoke against body-shaming and comments about people’s age and appearance. Salman further appeared to speak in support of his friend and actor Katrina Kaif, who had faced online comments about her appearance and weight.
