Drishyam 3 Boc: Ajay Devgn-starrer records second-biggest Hindi opening of 2026

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam franchise is set to come to an end with its third instalment, Drishyam The Conclusion. The film hit theatres on October 2 after creating massive buzz with pre-sales. Drishyam 3 has garnered largely positive reviews, leading to strong word-of-mouth, which has helped the film clock an impressive opening-day collection.
Drishyam 3 box office collection day 1
Advance bookings for Drishyam: The Conclusion opened on September 27, five days ahead of its theatrical release. The film registered the fourth-highest opening-day advance collection for a Hindi film, collecting Rs 27 crore prior to its release. Its overall advance bookings had surpassed Rs 50 crore by release day, with the film selling 13 lakh tickets in advance. This translated into a solid opening day.
The morning shows witnessed around 40% occupancy across India, with some tier-2 and tier-3 centres registering even higher occupancy. On day 1, Ajay Devgn-starrer collected an astonishing Rs 66.61 crore net across India. This is the second-biggest opening by a Hindi film of 2026. Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to be the number one.
Can Drishyam 3 be Ajay Devgn’s biggest commercial success ever?
Ajay Devgn has had a solid box-office run in recent years, with films such as Sooryavanshi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Drishyam 2, RRR, Shaitaan, Raid 2 and Dhamaal 4. Drishyam: The Conclusion is Devgn’s second release of the year. His earlier release, Dhamaal 4, reportedly became a box-office success, earning around Rs 222 crore worldwide against a reported budget of Rs 150 crore. Similarly, Raid 2 collected approximately Rs 237 crore worldwide against an estimated budget of Rs 120 crore.
The latest opening saw a massive jump from the previous instalments in the Drishyam franchise. The first part, which hit theatres in 2015, opened at Rs 5.85 crore, while Drishyam 2, released in 2022, opened at Rs 18.15 crore. If Drishyam 3’s box office earnings continue at this pace, then it could also become Ajay Devgn’s biggest blockbuster ever.
