Mumbai’s Income Tax Department carried out simultaneous searches at 12 locations linked to actress Rakul Preet Singh, her father-in-law and veteran filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani, and Panorama Studios on September 28, 2026.
The Mumbai Income Tax Department has reportedly conducted a significant operation over suspected fund irregularities through film activities. According to a report by TV9, the ongoing search is currently underway at 12 different locations to verify documents, financial records and details of the alleged funds being routed overseas.

According to Moneycontrol, the IT has been receiving information for a while that a large amount of transaction was being sent abroad linked to an alleged film shoot, foreign production and distribution. The investigation agencies suspect that there is a massive-scale invasion and financial discrepancies. Following that, various teams of the Mumbai IT department are currently investigating several premises in Mumbai.
As the Revenue Tax investigation is currently underway, it is expected that the vital information regarding the financial irregularities will be shared after the investigation. However, the Bhagnani family is yet to comment on the following matter.
According to NDTV, Mumbai police had launched a hunt last year for Aman Preet Singh, brother of Rakul Preet Singh, in a drug-related case. The operation, which was conducted by the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force and West Zone police, arrested two businessmen for allegedly hawking drugs, and 43 grams of cocaine and 11.5 grams of MDMA were legally seized from them. Aman was suspected to have bought drugs five times from the two peddlers.
