Actor Jackie Shroff was seen joining in the festivities of Ganpati visarjan on Friday, September 25. The veteran actor was spotted joining a sea of people at the Girgaon Chowpatty as they gathered to bid adieu to the Lalbaugcha Raja, marking the end of the 10-day festivities.

Jackie Shroff was seen dressed in a white kurta and traditional topi (cap), paired with sunglasses as he participated in the festivities and procession. Speaking to the media during the procession, Jackie gave a message about keeping the city clean, saying, “Maze lo yaar. Aur jo kachra hai wo saaf karo Kal.”

He also recalled his earlier days, saying he would often come to the beach during the visarjan and dance. He said, “First, I’d like to say something: have fun! Ganpati Bappa Morya, Mangal Murti Morya! Earlier, I used to come to this area dancing too. We also set up a public Ganpati at Walkeshwar Teen Batti. It was fun, that’s all. Enjoy yourself and take care while walking.”
He also urged everyone to live in peace and take care of the environment by planing trees.
About the Lalbaugcha Raja visarjan
The Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh visarjan procession began from Lalbaug Market earlier on Friday. The procession will pass through the mandal’s main entrance, Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, Bharatmata Cinema and Lalbaug Police Chowky before returning to the main entrance.
From there, the procession will move towards the Mumbai Municipal Corporation reception desk at Chowpatty before reaching the Lalbaugcha Raja immersion raft.
The immersion of the idol is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Saturday morning. Until then, devotees will continue to take part in the procession.
Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations begin with the installation of Lord Ganesha idols, followed by prayers and gatherings. The festival ends with Ganesh Visarjan, when devotees bid farewell to Lord Ganesha and the idols are immersed in water. Across Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra, large numbers of devotees take part in visarjan processions on the final day of the festival. People gather at different immersion points to offer prayers and witness the rituals.
