Recently released Hanuman Ansh has emerged as an unexpected box-office success, delivering a remarkable fifth-weekend collection. Its strong run has turned the film into a surprising theatrical success. The low-budget film has not only outperformed Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 during the same period but also surpassed the combined fifth-weekend earnings of Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2.
Hanuman Ansh beats Dhurandhar
Hanuman Ansh has delivered a stunning fifth-weekend performance at the box office, collecting Rs 49.25 crore nett across Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The film’s fifth-weekend tally is nearly four times that of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2, which earned Rs 12.55 crore during the same period earlier this year. More notably, Hanuman Ansh has surpassed the combined fifth-weekend collection of Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2. The first film earned Rs 33.25 crore in its fifth weekend, taking the two-film total to Rs 45.80 crore.

The film is directed by Vishal Chaturvedi and features Shobhinaw Satya alongside Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and Bhagvandas, among others. A journey of faith, humility and boundless love, Hanuman Ansh is rooted in “Bharat’s timeless Sant Parampara and brings to the big screen the story of a saint whose message continues to touch lives across generations: love all, serve all, feed all and remember Ram,” as per the press release.
Despite being a low-budget movie, the film has exceeded the expectations of cinemagoers by soaring high at the box office. Released on August 7, Hanuman Ansh opened to a relatively muted response, collecting around Rs 10 lakh on its first day. However, positive word of mouth gradually changed its fortunes. The film began attracting larger audiences in subsequent weeks, eventually recording its highest single-day collection of Rs 12.75 crore on its 24th day.
After the film’s success, director Vishal Chaturvedi has weighed in on the early assessment of the film, where it was allegedly declared a flop. While speaking to ANI, Vishal Chaturvedi expressed, “As long as the film is in a theatre and its run is not complete, then declaring that film a hit or flop is a haste. I used to feel that the film will be a hit and it will complete its run in two and a half months.”
Notably, the movie concludes with a slate suggesting that the story of Neem Karoli Baba is yet to be completed, clearly hinting at a sequel. It is now set for international release on September 11.
