Talking about the response she has been getting for her role in the trailer, Kanikka reveals, “I never thought that so many people would talk about it. In fact, because there are so many great actors in the film, I was not even sure if I would make it into the trailer. But I was so grateful that I did. When I saw the trailer, I was so happy.”
Further talking about her future projects, the actress revealed that the trailer has opened several doors for her. Kanikka, who was seen in the TV series Taara, revealed, “There is a film which I have done, Ek Rol Kiya Hai, that is there. There is also a web show. And now, after the trailer, I have suddenly got very good scripts coming. And I am so grateful for how it is happening.”
She added, “Suddenly (after the trailer) so many people have started calling, and I am suddenly feeling that I was born today. It is opening all the doors for me.”
Kanikka Kapoor reacts to comparisons
Talking of her looks being compared to Kiara Advani, Kanikka shared, “If you see me in real life, you might not think I look like her. Because some people say that ‘Maybe only your chin part resembles her or maybe only your forehead part resembles her.’ So, maybe from certain angles I look like her.”
Kanikka also revealed that if she tried to avoid the comparisons, “Honestly, in the beginning, I used to think. So, my name, Kannika Kapur, that’s a singer’s name also. Sometimes, I’m going for a shoot, and over there, the make-up and the hair people think that they’re going to do a singer’s make-up and hair. When I come, they think, ‘Oh, it’s this one.’ So, my name has also been compared.”
“In the beginning, I used to think that ‘No, no, I should at least clear the air.’ So, I used to tell everyone, ‘No, it’s not her, this is me.’ But then, after a point, I realised that I can’t do this all the time. And then, I was like, ‘Okay, whatever you guys think, I know who I am.’ It’s fine, I’m okay being compared to her.”
Whether the thought of changing her name ever crossed her mind, she says, “No, no. I really like my name. I really like my surname also. I don’t want to change anything about my name.”
