Actor Raveena Tandon’s family has reportedly fallen victim to a major theft after jewellery and luxury watches worth around Rs 25 lakh went missing from their Juhu residence. The accused, who had been closely associated with the family for years and cared for Raveena’s elderly mother, has been arrested, while police continue their investigation.
Theft at Raveena Tandon’s mother’s residence
As per a report in The Indian Express, jewellery and watches worth around Rs 25 lakh belonging to actor Raveena Tandon’s family were allegedly stolen by a woman who had been associated with the family for several years. The arrested accused has been identified as Rashi Chhabaria, a resident of Khar.
According to the police, she had been working with the Tandon family since 2020 and regularly visited their residence to care for Raveena’s 86-year-old mother, Veena Tandon. She is accused of breaking open a locker at the family’s Juhu residence and stealing gold and diamond jewellery belonging to Veena Tandon, along with two expensive watches owned by Raveena’s brother, film producer Rajiv Tandon. The stolen ornaments reportedly include gold bangles, bracelets, necklaces, lockets, rings, earrings, a diamond-studded mangalsutra, and other diamond jewellery.
The alleged theft came to light on October 2, 2025, when the family checked the jewellery ahead of the Dussehra festival and discovered that the locker had been broken into.
When confronted by the family, the accused initially denied the allegations. However, after the matter was reported to the police, she was arrested. Rajiv further alleged in the FIR that the woman, through one of her associates who is purportedly a police informer, threatened to implicate him in a false narcotics case if he continued to pressure her to return the stolen valuables.
Police have launched an investigation and are currently working to trace and recover the missing jewellery and watches.
